Inspect the structure
Look for loose railings, soft boards, raised fasteners, movement at stairs, and soil contact around posts. Keep plants and stored items from trapping moisture against framing.
Clean without damaging the surface
Use products approved for your decking material. Excessive pressure can scar wood and force water into joints.
Plan repairs early
Small repairs are easier to schedule before peak outdoor season. Photograph problem areas and note where movement or discoloration appears.
